Unit 2 Technology systems | Regans Port Folio

Unit 2 is the second and final exam-based unit we did overall in the course, marking the end of about 6 months' worth of studying for this unit. Overall, from my perspective, I felt that this unit was great overall, with me learning many things along the way, like how the computer works from the inside and outside, how computers are used in the industry, and many, many more things in this unit and beyond.

Below are the different LOs from this Unit and some things taken from my main teacher, Christina.

Technology systems are involved in many of the objects we use every day, from a laptop computer and routers relaying internet traffic, to logging in to a social networking site. This unit provides a first look at how the main building blocks of technology systems work.

In this unit, we did

Understand how the components of technology systems work together.

Understand how data flows between internal components of a computer and is processed to provide information.

Understand different types of software.

In this unit, we mainly learnt how computer software worked with the hardware aspect as well as with the computers and the sound world.

Above is part of a leaflet I did in class for different types of devices and storage, and what they meant. This was due to the who we needed to learn different types hardware and software for the exam.

Above is a sample from a PowerPoint I did with my classmate. In this one, we had to create our own PowerPoint by designing our smartphone. We learnt different technology systems worked and how they are linked together.

Below is a worksheet on robots vs humans that we did in class. The whole point of the worksheet was to learn about humans and AI and their different roles in society. shhe helped us understand the modern world.
